BAN vs NZ, 1st ODI, Mirpur: Bangladesh records seven-wicket cricket victory over New Zealand

Bangladesh beat New Zealand for the first time with a seven-wicket victory Thursday in the opening one-day international.
Opener Junaid Siddique scored 85 - including eight boundaries - to lead Bangladesh to 202-3 in reply to New Zealand's 201-9. Bangladesh paceman Mashrafee bin Murtaza and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak shared seven wickets. Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful also struck an unbeaten 60 off 56 balls with five fours and one six.
It was Bangladesh's first win in 12 one-day matches against New Zealand. Siddique shared a 109-third wicket partnership with Ashraful before being caught by Jacob Oram off Mark Gillespie with his team needing only eight runs.
Newcomer Shakib al Hasan scored the winning runs at Dhaka's Mirpur National Stadium. Kyle Mills removed Tamim Iqbal (12) and Mushfiqur Rahim (30) was dismissed by Scott Styris.
Earlier, Murtaza had figures of 4-44 and Razzak 3-33 after Bangladesh won the toss and sent New Zealand in to bat. New Zealand openers Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum combined for a first-wicket partnership of 47 before Murtaza dismissed McCullum for 14 and sparked a top-order collapse that saw the visitors lose five wickets for just 32 runs. Oram (57) and New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori (30) went on to steady the innings with a 70-run, seventh-wicket partnership that pushed the team to a competitive score.
Oram hit four boundaries and one six for his 57 off 85 balls, while Vettori made 30 off 57 with four boundaries. Oram fell to Razzak and Vettori was dismissed by Shakib al Hasan. Mills contributed 16 off 26 with one boundary and a six, while Tim Southee hit 19 off 14 balls.
BAN vs NZ, 1st ODI, Mirpur: Bangladesh 202 for 3 (45.3 overs) beat New Zealand 201 for 9 (50.0 overs) by 7 wickets
